SOLD OUT - A Special View of The LA Zoo - Sunday, May 16th!
This is a one of a kind opportunity for "insiders" to learn about animals from the LA Zoo chief veterinarians and other Cornell veterinarian specialists. Be educated and entertained as you hear about some very special, large and small "animal stars"!

Arrive at the LA Zoo Norman Center Grand Room for a meet and greet at 11:00 a.m., catered lunch at 11:30 a.m..and talk by the chief veterinarians of the LA Zoo. Together with Cornell Veterinarians from the LA area, we will get an insider view and hear wonderful stories about animals at the Zoo! Following lunch, a tram will take us to the LA Zoo's Gottlieb Animal Health and Conservation Center for a personal 20 minute guided tour of the facilities. Keep in mind that animal health is of paramount importance at the center so we may not be able to view these animals. Finally, we will break into groups, for a one hour tour, each led by a docent, to see the Zoo in the few hours remaining. The Zoo closes at 5:00 p.m. If you plan to bring children to this event, please consider that the child should be old enough to enjoy several presentations, each up to one hour in length. The Los Angeles Zoo is home to more than 1,100 animals from around the world, representing more than 250 different species, each with their own specialized needs. Many of the animals in the Zoo's collection serve as ambassadors for endangered or threatened species. At the Los Angeles Zoo, responsibility to their animal collection is of paramount importance, and mandates the very finest veterinary care possible. Animals & You is a 15-minute long animal close-ups that take place at stations throughout the Winnick Family Children’s Zoo from 10:45 - 11:00 a.m. (subject to availability). If you would like to try to fit this in quickly before our sign in beginning at 11:00 a.m., please come early, enjoy the close-ups and join us immediately afterwards at the Norman Center.
