Join our hosts Dan and Eileen Silverman for the first in-person Scholarship Dinner since 2019!

As the sun hits the horizon at the Palos Verdes Peninsula, enjoy the stunning view beginning with hors d'oeuvres served on their backyard patio overlooking Catalina Island, and continue dining to the backdrop of the sunset over the ocean below. Continue the fun with some entertainment that includes an audiovisual presentation on their 100-inch projection screen and a parlour (or rather a patio) game that will remain a surprise!

After spending 4 undergrad years on the Cornell campus followed by 11 on medschool campuses in Boston and Columbus, Dan came to Southern California in search of a geographical location where tennis would not have to be played for half the year on indoor courts of universities and tennis clubs — while Eileen arrived here, after completing her medical training in Guangdong China, in search of a mixed doubles partner, both calling SoCal their home ever since.  They now look forward to sharing theirs with you on the late afternoon/evening at their lovely home in Palos Verdes.

About Scholarship Endowment Fund:

How can you simultaneously have a wonderful meal, meet new Cornellians and help provide much-needed scholarships for deserving Los Angeles Cornell students?  The Club’s annual series of Scholarship Dinners & Events offers you a chance to have a great time while benefiting CCLA’s Scholarship Endowment.

For almost 30 years, scholarship dinners have been CCLA's principal means of building our Scholarship Endowment. Our donations from this fund to help Los Angeles-area Cornell students over the years have totaled more than $300,000, all thanks to our dedicated alumni who attend these events. The University uses our annual donation to supplement the financial aid needs of about a dozen students from L.A. Note that 100 percent of all donations are going to the Endowment and your tax adviser can explain how your contribution may be deductible.

Cost:
$125 per person for CCLA Members and guests (max 2)
$150 per person for non-members and additional guests
