Join us to enjoy the beautiful sounds of The Cornell University Chorus, which was founded in 1920. It is an entirely student-run organization with a reputation as one of the nation’s outstanding treble choirs. Comprising roughly fifty students drawn from every college and many academic majors, the Chorus performs a repertoire spanning eight centuries and over a dozen languages, ranging from masses and motets to spirituals, folksong, world music, jazz, and a variety of other classical and contemporary pieces. Since 2003, the Chorus has made a special point of commissioning new works from women composers, with the goal of expanding the contemporary repertoire for treble voices. In 2020, the Chorus honored its Centennial, a celebration of 100 years of treble choral music at Cornell.
