Please join us for a panel discussion with Cornell Law School alumni on a career in law! This will be a discussion on not only what it’s like to apply to and choose law schools, but also on the different career paths available: law firms, the government, and even the bench. Whether you’re looking to go to law school next year or in 20 years, this will be a helpful discussion to learn about the profession. This event is open to CCLA members as well as any children of CCLA members who can join us on Zoom.

Moderator: Stacey Schwartz, ‘93, leads professional development, coaching and recruiting efforts at an Am Law 100 firm. After graduating from Cornell, Stacey got her JD at NYU Law School and worked at large international firms, first as a litigator and, later, in various talent management and diversity and inclusion roles.

*Hon. Suzanne H. Segal (Ret.) served as a magistrate judge for the Central District of California, including as the Chief Magistrate from 2012 to 2016. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Segal worked as an Assistant United States Attorney for 12 years after 4 years of private practice. Judge Segal is now a mediator and arbitrator. Judge Segal is a 1987 graduate of Cornell Law School.

* Eddie Jae K. Kim is a partner at a private law firm. His work is in consumer protection class actions; he has devoted his entire career to protecting the rights of individuals and small businesses. His work includes a number of significant and high profile cases, including Gutierrez v. Wells Fargo, which resulted in the $203 million trial verdict on behalf of one million California bank customers based on the unlawful assessment of overdraft fees. Eddie is a 2004 graduate of Cornell Law School.

* Yujin Chun is an associate at a private law firm. She has worked at both small and large law firms, doing both plaintiff and defense side work in civil litigation across various industries including healthcare and finance. As an executive committee member of the Barristers/Young Lawyers Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, she often connects with law students. Yujin also has experience teaching the LSAT and working with students on college and law school admissions. Yujin graduated from Cornell Law School in 2015.
