Discover Hidden Corners of the Huntington: A Special Cornell Alumni Garden Experience
Location: The Huntington Library, Art Collection and Botanical Gardens - 1151 Oxford Road, San Marino, CA 91108
Join fellow Cornell alumni for an exclusive, extended tour of The Huntington’s world-renowned gardens — a unique opportunity to go beyond the standard visitor experience.
This private event features in-depth, back-to-back tours of two extraordinary gardens, beginning with the serene beauty and architectural splendor of the Chinese Garden, followed by a guided exploration of the Japanese Garden. The Japanese Heritage Shōya House will be open during your visit and is a must-see! Both gardens are expansive and offer plenty to explore with each tour lasting approximately 90 minutes.
The world famous Huntington Gardens contains sixteen themed gardens spanning roughly 130 acres, and the botanical complex includes research facilities as well as a herbarium. The Chinese Garden ( Liu Fang Yuan 流芳園, the Garden of Flowing Fragrance), is one of the finest classical-style Chinese gardens outside of China.
After the tours, enjoy a relaxed no-host lunch at The Huntington’s café, then feel free to continue the adventure on your own — wander the estate, revisit your favorite garden, or discover something entirely new.
Space is limited for this insider experience — don’t miss this chance to reconnect with Cornellians in a truly unforgettable setting.
