MIT Alumni Event - MIT SoCal Author Series: Own Your Brain for a Smarter Tomorrow With Elizabeth Ricker
(NOT A CCLA SPONSORED EVENT)
Location: 18726 S Western Ave #407, Gardena, CA 90248, USA
Would you like to be smarter tomorrow than you were yesterday? Would you like to learn a process of running experiments on yourself to determine what does and doesn't work for you? Join fellow MIT and Harvard alums as we kick-off the MITCSC Author Series with Elizabeth Ricker '08, MIT + Harvard graduate and Founder of NeuroEducate! Elizabeth is the award-winning author of BRAIN: An Owner's Guide (DK/Penguin Random House, 2025) and SMARTER TOMORROW: How 15 Minutes of Neurohacking a Day Can Help You Work Better, Think Faster, and Get More Done (Little, Brown Spark/Hachette, 2021).
Key takeaways from this interactive talk and Q&A discussion will include:
- How to upgrade your memory, attention, self-control, and creativity using little-known tech that ranges from free to less than $500 -- and that you can use in 15 minutes a day.
- A deep but practical dive into cognitive enhancement. Why does that matter? If you upgrade your brain, you upgrade your life.
- Adventures in building neuro-electric devices and "Quantified Self" style experiments — learn how to do these things yourself!
Colorful characters and cutting edge brain research from the US and around the world.
There will be ample time to chat with Elizabeth and mingle with attendees during the reception, with wine, cheese, and assorted other light appetizers and beverages.
