Join us for an insight-rich panel featuring Cornell alumni working at the front lines of AI policy, enterprise adoption, and startup innovation. The conversation will examine how organizations are approaching AI today, the practical challenges they face, and the implications for policy, business operations, and the future of work —from navigating safety and ethics in a rapidly evolving landscape, to helping global companies deploy AI at scale, to building a startup using AI to automate traditionally manual tasks. Whether you’re just curious about AI or actively working in the AI space today, this conversation will leave you smarter about where AI is creating value, where uncertainty remains, and how the field could evolve in the coming years.


Moderator:

Adam Vagley - Adam Vagley (ILR '04) is a partner at Sole Consulting, a Los Angeles-based management consulting firm. He focuses on helping companies adopt AI successfully -- defining their AI strategy, ensuring safety and security, and building and launching custom agents targeting real business problems. He started his career as a product manager at a PE-backed startup and has been a co-founder of two startups along the way. He has lived and worked in the US, UK, and Australia.

Panelists:

Lynell David -Lynell Davis is an experienced attorney with deep expertise in contracting, corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, and healthcare and is currently General Counsel at The California Endowment, a $4B foundation focused on expanding healthcare access to underserved individuals and communities. She has been deeply engaged with AI from a legal, healthcare, and nonprofit perspective and is a member of multiple state-level AI working groups. She has a bachelor of science degree from Cornell University, a JD from Southwestern Law School, a master's in Bioethics from Loyola Marymount University, and an MBA from Cornell's Johson School.

Elsa Yan - Elsa Yan began her career in management consulting, most recently at McKinsey. She is currently a Senior Principal on Google's Cloud AI Value Creation team, where she advises customers on strategies to unlock the full business potential of Agentic AI. Elsa holds dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of San Diego and an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson School.

Peter Marler -Peter Marler ’08 (ILR) is the co-founder and CEO of Superunit, a Y Combinator-backed platform that deploys AI agents to automate employment and income verifications for background-screening organizations and financial institutions.

Prior to founding Superunit, Peter worked at Facebook during a period of rapid product and organizational growth, and later completed his MBA at Stanford GSB. He has spent the past decade building and leading teams at startups and large companies alike.
